2023 Rose Parade equestrian units are coming from Hemet, Long Beach, Pasadena and beyond

PASADENA — It’s a tradition as old as the Rose Parade itself: Equestrians.

They are a perennial crowd-pleaser on the 5.5-mile route, and this year is shaping up to be no different, as the Tournament of Roses on Wednesday, Sept. 21, announced the equestrian line-up for the 2023 Tournament of Roses Parade.

There will be a sweet 16 equestrian units to celebrate New Year’s Day on Colorado Boulevard, galloping to the parade’s theme this year, “Turning the Corner.”

The units will show off a range of horse breeds, showing off their skills, costumes – of which some will exhibit in the pre-parade  Dec. 30, 2022, Equestfest event at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

There, equestrian groups perform their best tricks, drills, dancing and roping skills, and attendees can walk through the stables and meet and greet with the riders and horses.
