Abandoned commercial building burns in three-alarm fire in Arcadia

Firefighters put out a fire inside an abandoned commercial building in Arcadia late Saturday night.

Arcadia fire officials said in a Facebook post that it was a three-alarm fire and that 61 firefighters responded to 128 Wheeler Avenue at 9:54 p.m. after a report of a fire.

It took about four hours to put out the fire. With the building vacant, fire crews from Arcadia and several nearby cities surrounded the fire to protect adjacent buildings.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but officials were not immediately able to say what the injury was.

Fire officials said they could not confirm whether anyone was inside the building at the time of the fire. But no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
