THE GAME: The Angels scored four runs in the ninth inning to rally for an 8-6 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday afternoon in Goodyear, Ariz. Luis Barrera drove in the go-ahead runs with a two-out, two-run single.
PITCHING REPORT: Right-hander Chase Silseth gave up one run in four innings, striking out three. He worked around five hits and a walk. Silseth has allowed two runs in eight innings in his past two Cactus League starts. … Right-hander Jonathan Holder took the mound in the sixth just after the Angels took a one-run lead, and he gave up three runs. Holder loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter and then he walked another to push home a run. He gave up a clean single into right and then an infield single. A veteran trying to return to the majors after losing most of two years because of injuries, Holder has allowed seven earned runs in 5-1/3 innings this spring. … Left-hander Kenny Rosenberg worked three scoreless innings, striking out five, to pick up the victory. Rosenberg has not allowed a run in six innings this spring.
HITTING REPORT: Jared Walsh hit a first-inning two-run home run against former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber. It was Walsh’s first homer of the spring. … Brandon Drury hit a two-run homer in the sixth, his first homer of the spring. Drury has four hits in his last 10 at-bats, improving to 7 for 22 (.318) with a .945 OPS this spring. … Max Stassi and Matt Thaiss were robbed of extra-base hits on back-to-back plays when Guardians center fielder Myles Straw made catches at the warning track. … Mickey Moniak came up just short of a go-ahead three-run homer in the ninth. He settled for a single because the runners ahead of him were holding to tag up in case the ball was caught.

Walsh is normally a first baseman, but the Angels are experimenting with his versatility. … Second baseman Kyren Paris flipped a ball out of his glove to shortstop Andrew Velazquez, who turned a double play. … First baseman Jake Lamb couldn’t make the play on a hard grounder, which was ruled a hit.
