Attorney Will Argue Traveling Nurse Suffered a Seizure Before Fatal Crash

Attorneys for Nicole Linton will argue that their client suffered an epi- leptic seizure when on August 8, 2022 she barrelled through at red light at upwards of 140 mph triggering a fiery crash that involved eight vehicles and left five people and an 8 1⁄2 month-old fetus dead.

Linton has pled not guilty to six counts of murder and five counts of ve- hicular manslaughter with gross negli- gence and has been held without bail at the Los Angeles County Jail since being released from the hospital after the in- cident.

Her lawyer,Jacqueline Sparagna, maintains that as Linton suffers from severe mental health issues, she did not consciously disregard human life in the fatal incident.

Dr. David Millett, a neurologist spe- cializing in epilepsy and seizures, has been hired by her defense.

His report contends that Linton lost consciousness while driving prior to ap- proaching the accident site and re- gained memory after she had exited the car sitting/lying on the sidewalk.

“The most compelling explanation for this abrupt loss of consciousness, in- cluding loss of both memory and aware- ness of her immediate circumstances for a matter of only minutes,” he wrote, “is that Ms. Linton experienced a sei- zure.

Linton’s next court hearing is sched- uled for July 6.
