Black Excellence Weekend at LA County Fair showcases food vendors May 20-21

The “Black-Owned Food Vendor Tasting Experience” is one of this weekend’s highlights at the LA County Fair.

It is part of the fourth annual Black Excellence Weekend put on by the Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement, an Ontario-based group with the goal of supporting Black communities and businesses.

Food vendors will include Billionaire Burger Boyz, All Flavor No Grease, D Lo’s Kitchen, Wut-A-Pickle and OMG Icees, according to a news release.

The “CEEM takeover” will be to the right of the Yellow Gate entrance at the Fairplex in Pomona on Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21.

Other highlights will include music, including a performance by the Grammy nominated artist Major, speakers and a business pitch competition.

Admission for $13 is available through the event’s link on the fair’s website. The code is CEEM2023.
