Ballots have begun to arrive across California, leaving voters to decide between elected officials and several ballot measures. Among those measures are Proposition 26 and Proposition 27, which would legalize sports betting in the state.
The battle over the sports betting market has shaped up to be the most expensive ballot measure fight in U.S. history, with tribal casinos on one end and online sportsbooks on the other.

Beyond Southern California
West Virginia once relied on coal as the state’s leading economic driver. As those coal jobs fade out, the state set its eyes on casinos in hopes of revitalizing its job market. Bristol, Virginia, welcomed its first casino in a shopping mall but is expected to open a Hard Rock casino and hotel in 2024, along with three other casino projects in the next couple of years.
