Chiptole Mexican Grill has introduced a new flavor of beef to the metaverse.
In real life, Garlic Guajillo Steak will be added to Chipotle’s menu for a limited time on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The beef is flavored with the guajillo chiles, which are native to Mexico, and has a “slight kick,” according to a news release.
The Newport Beach-based chain unveiled the steak Tuesday morning on the online gaming platform Roblox. Players who have registered with the site can go to a Chipotle Grill Simulator at roblox.com/chipotle to build a burrito with a customizable character representing Nevielle Panthaky, the company’s vice president of culinary. Players then can virtually taste the steak.
The first 100,000 players to complete the challenge will get a code to order the steak on Chipotle’s app.
Chipotle Rewards members and Roblox users get early access to the steak on Tuesday, the news release said.
