INGLEWOOD — A contingent of Clippers team officials, including owner Steve Ballmer, the players and dignitaries including Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts gathered on Tuesday for the ceremonial topping off of the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

After watching the final steel beam – signed by officials and construction crew members – get placed on the roof, the current players got their latest look at the progress that has been made on the $2 billion arena that is scheduled to open ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Gillian Zucker, the Clippers’ President of Business Operations, said during the ceremony that one of the things the beam represents is the work done by the thousands involved in the project, from the designers to the construction workers.
