7. Saugus (4-2): The Centurions didn’t have an answer for West Ranch’s offense in last week’s 43-6 loss. Now, they’ll have to root for Valencia to knock off West Ranch (Oct. 7) to keep alive its hopes for a share of the Foothill League title.

Last week: No. 3 | This week: Bye

8. Simi Valley (3-2): The Pioneers have lost two straight. That’s two more than all of last year in the regular season. A little humble pie might be good for Simi Valley heading into Marmonte League play.

Last week: No. 8 | This week: at Westlake, Friday

9. Highland (4-1): The Bulldogs will likely go the rest of the year sitting at No. 9 because the Golden League won’t put up much of a fight.

Last week: No. 9 | This week: vs. Eastside, Friday

10. Alemany (2-2): The Warriors went on the road with no quarterback and beat Lawndale 18-14 by running the wildcat offense with Jeremiah Claiborne and Paden White. QB CJ Ceron is out for the year with a broken leg. Alemany is going to run, run, run.

Last week: No. 13 | This week: vs. Chaminade, Friday

11. Valencia (3-3): The Vikings took down Castaic 66-6, but will now have a testy game against Golden Valley on Friday. That game might be closer than most think.

12. Moorpark (4-1): The Musketeers are off to a surprising start after taking down Oak Park 34-27. Connor Smith passed for 195 yards and rushed for three touchdowns in the win. Running back Luke Cochran rushed for 103 yards and two scores. Watch out for Moorpark.

14. St. Francis (3-2): The Golden Knights are now 3-2 instead of 2-3 after Long Beach Millikan had to forfeit its wins over St. Francis earlier this season. St. Francis had a bye last week and will now prepare for Paraclete at home.

15. Golden Valley (5-1): The Grizzlies moved to 2-0 in the Foothill League after taking down Hart 34-20. Ajani Smith had six catches for 94 yards to go along with two receiving touchdowns and two interceptions on defense.
