Noteworthy: Carey had four catches for 131 yards receiving and two total touchdowns (1 receiving, 1 on special teams) in Downey’s 55-54 comeback win against Cathedral in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 semifinals on Friday, Nov. 18. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete also had eight tackles and an 85-yard kick return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, which fueled Downey’s 12-point comeback late in the game. Carey, a three-star recruit, has a school-record 19 receiving touchdowns in 13 games this season.
