Caitlin Clark kicked off the draft night by being selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever, following her impressive career at Iowa. Stanford’s Cameron Brink was chosen by the Los Angeles Sparks, with Tennessee’s Rikea Jackson joining Brink to create a possible dynamic duo for the Sparks. Kamilla Cardoso, who just won a national championship at South Carolina was picked third by the Chicago Sky. Angel Reese, known for her outstanding tenure at LSU, was selected seventh by the Sky, adding depth to their frontcourt alongside Cardoso. The Las Vegas Aces also selected Angel Jackson, a center from Jackson State. She became only the seventh player from an HBCU to be selected in the WNBA Draft. Other notable draft picks this year include theNew York Liberty selecting Marquesha Davis, SF, Ole Miss, and the Washington Mystics selecting UConn star Aaliyah Edwards.
