KOST-FM making its annual switch to round-the-clock Christmas music

It’s time for jingle bells and mistletoe as far as KOST-FM is concerned as the station makes its annual shift to rocking around the Christmas tree with round-the-clock holiday music at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11.

Morning host Ellen K will flip the switch on her program with help from a surprise celebrity guest. And then, well, if Christmas is your thing, deck your ears with boughs of holly maybe?

The tradition is something fans of 24/7 holiday music look forward to as soon as Halloween is in the rearview mirror.

The announcement of this year’s date earlier this week might have slipped past some listeners due to the elections Tuesday. (That wasn’t just us, was it?) Though the weather outside turning frightful on Election Day should have been a clue, perhaps.

Listeners have been dying to know when the switchover would take place, pestering the KOST social media pages for information for weeks.

“Can’t wait! All my radio stations in my car will be on 103.5,” wrote Laura Bobadilla on the station’s Facebook page.

“I can’t wait for Friday. I will be listening to you all the way from Florida!” wrote Ricardo Alcaraz on the same post.

“So excited! I’m already listening to Christmas music in the car until you start the music on Friday!” added Val Hartleyyes.

KOST also announced it is bringing back its holiday party at Disney’s California Adventure on Dec. 7. Listeners can call in to win four-packs of tickets from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.

There are also daily contests online through the KOST website or social media channels, as well as ticket giveaways through Smart & Final stores and KTLA-TV.
