Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations West Bureau, Special Assault Section, are asking for the public’s help in identifying additional victims and witnesses in a series of sexual assault cases linked to a Marina del Rey man.

Authorities say the investigation began in January 2025, when a 24-year-old man reported that 42-year-old Jean Junior Dar, also known as “Jean-Que,” drugged and sexually assaulted him. Since then, detectives have identified two more victims, both in their mid-20s, who described similar encounters.

According to investigators, the victims each met the suspect at a bar, where he struck up a conversation and invited them to an “after party.” Instead, police say the man then drove them to his residence near Marina del Rey, offered them drinks, and after they became incapacitated, engaged in sexual acts without their consent.

On May 21, 2025, Dar was arrested and booked on multiple felony counts. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed formal charges. Dar has however posted bond and is currently out of custody.

Detectives have so far identified three victims but believe there may be more who have not yet come forward. To assist in the investigation, the LAPD is urging anyone with information to contact investigators.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detectives with the LAPD’s Operations West Bureau, Special Assault Section, can be reached directly at (213) 473-0447. After hours or on weekends, the public can call the department’s 24-hour line at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).
