Man fatally struck by sanitation truck in Sherman Oaks neighborhood

A man was fatally struck by a Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation truck in a Sherman Oaks neighborhood on Wednesday, Jan. 25, though circumstances on what led to the crash were unclear.

Around noon, the man was struck by the truck in a residential area on the 15100 block of Burbank Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Police Officer Jader Chavez. The victim, believed to be homeless at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear on Wednesday whether the victim was in the road or along a sidewalk or other location when he was struck.
