Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has endorsed Antonio Villaraigosa for governor, praising his record on social and economic justice and calling him the best candidate to lead California. Joining Bass in South Los Angeles were City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilmembers Heather Hutt and Curren Price Jr., and Compton Mayor Emma Sharif, who also announced their support. “From his activism on L.A.’s eastside to his leadership as Assembly Speaker and as mayor tackling climate change, Antonio Villaraigosa will bring that same passion to stand up to Donald Trump’s attacks and deliver results for Californians,” Bass said.
