McDonald’s to launch Hiring Week in Southern California

McDonald’s is about to launch its first ever Hiring Event week in Southern California as the fast-food giant prepares to fill thousands of job openings.

Katya Echazarreta, the first Mexican-born American woman to go to space and a former McDonald’s worker, will help kick off the event, which begins Monday, Oct. 17 at hundreds of McDonald’s restaurants throughout the region.

Job seekers will have the chance to apply for a variety of jobs and even interview on the spot, the company said.

McDonald’s employees have access to a host of benefits to suit their needs, the company said, including enrollment in programs that help them earn a high school diploma, learn English and receive guidance from educational advisors.

Employees can also receive college tuition assistance through Archways to Opportunity, the company’s signature education and career advising program.

Job seekers can visit SoCalMcDHiring.com to learn more and apply to a restaurant near them, or text ‘apply’ to 38000 to start the application process.
