No. 18 UCLA football vs. Pitt: Sun Bowl live updates

Fifth-year senior quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson will lead UCLA for the final time in his career Friday in the Sun Bowl against Pitt.

The Bruins will play their first bowl game during Chip Kelly’s tenure as coach, despite being bowl eligible last year when COVID wiped out last year’s Holiday Bowl appearance.

A victory for the Bruins would tie a program record of 10 wins in a single season. The program has had nine 10-win seasons, with the latest one taking place in 2014 under Jim Mora.

UCLA defensive coordinator Bill McGovern has also returned for the Sun Bowl. He’s “thrilled to be back” after missing the past five games of the season due to an unspecified health issue.

When: Friday, 11 a.m. PT

Where: Sun Bowl Stadium, El Paso, Texas
