OneLife LA – Our Mission Is Love: The ninth annual event celebrates the beauty and dignity of life. Rally, 11 a.m. at La Placita Olvera Kiosk (845 N. Every Person Has a Name – International Holocaust Remembrance: The Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys and the City of Pasadena host a reading of names of those who died in the Holocaust, beginning 7 p.m. today through 8 p.m. Jan. 22. The event is in advance of Jan. 27, the United Nations designated day of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Lunar New Year – Midnight Temple Ceremony: Participants make offerings, burn incense and seek blessings, 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Jan. 22. Firecrackers will be set off. According to the temple’s website, Thien Hau Temple is dedicated to Mazu — Thien Hau in Vietnamese — the Taoist goddess of the sea and to those whose cultures are associated with the sea.
