Universal Studios announces ‘Chucky’ maze for its 2023 Halloween Horror Nights

Universal Studios Hollywood gave its die-hard Halloween Horror Nights fans a special treat on Halloween and announced the first maze for its 2023 season on Monday afternoon.

As the theme park closes out the final evening of its 2022 haunting season, it revealed that producers will be bringing an all-new attraction based on the USA and SyFy series “Chucky” to the event next year.

The horror television series was created by screenwriter and film director Don Mancini, who also created the serial killer doll Chucky in the original “Child’s Play” film in 1988. The movie spawned numerous sequels including “Bride of Chucky” and “Curse of Chucky.” It serves as the sequel to the seventh film, “Cult of Chucky,” and stars Brad Dourif, who reprises his role as the voice of Chucky, alongside actors Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise and Jennifer Tilly, who are all reprising their roles from previous films.

This year, Halloween Horror Nights featured mazes based on films such as “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” and “Halloween,” an all-new maze featuring music and visuals from R&B star The Weeknd’s “After Hours” album and original concept attractions including Scarecrow: The Reaping and La Llorona: the Weeping Woman.
