LOS ANGELES — USC was down a critical man in Saturday’s 30-14 win over Washington State, with captain linebacker Shane Lee on the sidelines in street clothes with a cast over his left wrist.

Lee missed practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. On Thursday, head coach Lincoln Riley said Lee was expected to play against the Cougars. But following Saturday’s game, Riley said Lee was scratched earlier in the day.

Entering the day, Lee had been second on the team with 35 tackles after transferring from Alabama.

His replacement, Ralen Goforth, led USC with eight tackles against the Cougars.

Dedich, McRee back

Offensive guard Justin Dedich and tight end Lake McRee were back on Saturday after missing last week’s game against Arizona State.

Dedich started and played every snap at right guard. McRee had one reception against Washington State for four yards but left the game and headed to the locker room early after taking a blow to his chest in the second half.

Left tackle shakeup

Bobby Haskins started for the fourth consecutive game at left tackle but had to leave midway through the second quarter to have his shoulder looked at by trainers.

While he was on the sideline, he was replaced by Mason Murphy, not Courtland Ford, who started the first two games at left tackle while alternating series with Haskins. Ford has not played since a holding call negated a Mario Williams touchdown at the end of the second quarter against Arizona State.

Haskins was able to return and finish the game at left tackle.

Injury report

Wide receiver Jordan Addison pulled up lame on a route in the third quarter and had to be looked at in the injury tent on the USC sidelines. He was able to return and finish the game with three receptions for 37 yards.

Defensive tackle Brandon Pili left the game early and headed to the locker room with an undisclosed injury.

50 years

In the first half, USC honored the 50th anniversary of the 1972 national championship football team, with members of the team gathering on the field.
