USC men’s basketball lands 5-star PG Isaiah Collier

For the second consecutive day, a USC basketball program landed one of the nation’s top recruits.

One day after Sierra Canyon’s Juju Watkins committed to the women of Troy, five-star point guard Isaiah Collier — the top-rated recruit in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports.com — signed his letter of intent to play for USC men’s basketball and head coach Andy Enfield.

Collier announced his commitment to the Trojans on Instagram Live, choosing USC over Cincinnati, Michigan and Alabama.

“Definitely the connection I built with all the coaches, it was like a family atmosphere,” Collier told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi on Instagram Live. “L.A. is L.A., so [I enjoyed] everything.”

USC has built through the post in recent years and has been unable to find the right point guard to lead the team since Jordan McLaughlin graduated in 2018. Collier gives the Trojans the dynamic playmaker they have been looking for to make their offense hum.

The 6-foot-3 Collier is the third member of USC’s 2023 recruiting class, joining four-star guard Silas Demary Jr. and four-star center Arrinten Page, who is Collier’s teammate at Wheeler High in Mariette, Georgia.
