What you need to know about Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City’s free OktoBEERfest

While Halloween and all the spooky happenings tend to take center stage in October, beer drinkers also know it as Oktoberfest season.

Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City will celebrate Oktoberfest with beers, live music by DJ Alf Alfa, German-style food, games and raffles from 6 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Oct. 22. The event is free to attend for those 21-and-older.

Patrons can purchase the beer-tasting package for $25, which includes five drink tickets and a complimentary plastic stein. The beer selection features local and national vendors such as Hangar 24, Firestone Walker, Luchador Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company (Chico, CA), Lagunitas Brewing Company, Alesmith Brewing, Coachella Valley Brewing Company, SLO Brewing Co., HOP Valley Brewing, Golden Road Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Samuel Adams and Dogfish Head Brewery.

The German-inspired menu is priced at $35 per person and includes items such as the soft Bavarian pretzel served with beer cheese sauce and mustard; beer bratwurst served on a brioche roll with kraut; beer fest burger served on a pretzel bun with black forest ham, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, ground mustard mayo and lettuce; and a chicken schnitzel sandwich served on a pretzel bun with lemon herb mayo, pickles and lettuce.
