UCLA update: The Bruins responded to their first loss in nearly a year with a dominant 38-13 win over Stanford. Zach Charbonnet tied a career-best with 198 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw for 199 yards on 18-of-29 passing. … UCLA’s defense recovered from allowing a season-worst 545 yards of total offense by holding Stanford to two field goals and a late touchdown. … The Bruins enter the month of November with a 7-1 record, the first time they have had seven wins at this point of the season since 2005. UCLA is ranked No. 10 in this week’s AP poll, with the first College Football Playoff rankings to be released on Tuesday.

Arizona State update: The Sun Devils beat Colorado 42-34 on the road in a game between teams with interim head coaches. Arizona State put up 557 yards of total offense, with quarterback Trenton Bourguet throwing for 435 yards and three touchdowns in his first collegiate start. … Fifth-year running back Xazavian Valladay ran for three touchdowns, and tight end Jalin Conyers caught all three of Bourguet’s touchdown completions. … In addition to swapping out Emory Jones for Bourguet at quarterback, Arizona State interim coach Shaun Aguano also took over play-calling duties on offense against Colorado.
