UCLA update: The Bruins hung on for a 50-36 win over Arizona State to remain in contention for a Pac-12 title. UCLA had a 42-18 second-half lead but allowed 18 straight points to the Sun Devils before putting the game away with a late touchdown drive. … The status of star running back Zach Charbonnet is undetermined heading into this week. Charbonnet appeared healthy at practice, but did not play on Saturday after attempting to go through warmups. … Without Charbonnet, the Bruins still ran for more than 400 yards. Kazmeir Allen, a versatile wide receiver, had a breakout game on the ground with a career-high 137 rushing yards. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson continued his superb season with 289 yards of total offense, four touchdowns and several highlight-reel runs.

Arizona update: The Wildcats lost their fourth straight conference game on Saturday, falling 45-20 at Utah. Arizona allowed the Utes to rush for a season-high 306 yards. … The Wildcats, who give up the second-most yards and points per game in the Pac-12 behind only Colorado, have allowed 45 points or more in five of their six conference games. … Quarterback Jayden de Laura ranks seventh in the nation in passing yards. But he was held to 159 yards on 10 of 20 passing against Utah as Arizona’s 20 points were its fewest since Week 2.
