USC update: The Trojans reached bowl eligibility in the minimum six games with a 30-14 win over Washington State. The win left USC as one of three Pac-12 teams — including Oregon and UCLA — that are undefeated in conference play. … Despite being down LB Shane Lee (wrist) and S Calen Bullock (targeting) for most of the game, the USC defense was sensational, holding Washington State scoreless in the second half while recording six sacks. … It is unclear when Lee will return from his injury. Bullock will be eligible for the Utah game after his ejection occurred in the first half. … The offense was carried by RB Travis Dye, who rushed 28 times for a season-high 149 yards. … QB Caleb Williams completed just 51.7% of his passes for 188 yards. It’s the second time in three games Williams has thrown for under 200 yards.

Utah was gashed for 28 second-half points while the Bruins reached 502 yards of total offense, 203 on the ground. … Despite the Bruins’ onslaught, Utah remains sixth nationally in yards allowed per game (244.0). … Utah relied on its run game against UCLA, gaining 192 yards on 43 carries. QB Cam Rising produced 59 ground yards himself and scored two touchdowns with his feet. … USC has won two of three matchups against the Utes in Salt Lake City since Utah joined the Pac-12.
