Woman crashes stolen car in wild Agoura Hills carjacking, deputies say

A suspect was detained by bystanders after a wild carjacking in Agoura Hills on Friday, March 31, authorities said.

At around 12 p.m., a woman approached another woman sitting in her car in the 5800 block of Kanan Road and attempted to take her purse, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

When the two fought over the purse, the victim was pulled from her vehicle, and the suspect got in the driver’s seat and attempted to drive away, the LASD said.

But she crashed into several other cars and a nearby brick wall. People who were nearby detained her when she got out of the car and tried to run away, according to the release.

The victim was treated for injuries. The suspect was transported to a hospital and will be booked.
