Woodland Hills man arrested in fatal shooting at Fallbrook Center

Police announced Sunday they arrested a 34-year-old Woodland Hills man suspected of shooting four people at the Fallbrook Shopping Center in West Hills, leaving one dead.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the center’s parking lot at Fallbrook Avenue and Vanowen Street. The violence followed a dispute over a drug deal, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said on Saturday.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of family. Paramedics transported three people with non-lethal gunshot wounds to a hospital.

The suspect, identified as Mark Connole, was booked on suspicion of murder at the LAPD’s Topanga-area station and was being held on $2 million bail.

Connole was reportedly seen fleeing the area in a red Honda sedan after the shooting. Following a short pursuit, officers took him into custody. A firearm was found in the vehicle, police said.

Police are seeking additional witnesses. Anyone with relevant information can contact LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide detectives at 818-374-9550. During non-business hours or on weekends, witnesses can call 213-972-2971 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).

Those wishing to remain anonymous should call the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go to www.lacrimestoppers.org.
