WWE’s Wrestlemania 39 sets event’s all-time gate record

WWE is set to announce Monday that Wrestlemania 39 broke the event’s all-time gate record nearly three months prior to the event scheduled for April 1 and 2 from SoFi Stadium.

The gross amount is more than $18 million, sources tell the Southern California News Group. The company’s previous mark of $17.3 million was set in 2016 for WrestleMania 32 held AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

WWE has not announced the card for pro wrestling’s biggest event of the year but one of the participants for the main event match is expected to be determined later this month at the Royal Rumble event.

The winner of a 30-man battle royal is awarded the opportunity to compete for the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania each year. Roman Reigns is currently the WWE Champion.

‘WrestleMania Goes Hollywood’ tickets are still available on the Ticketmaster website.

SoFi Stadium was the host venue for Super Bowl LVI last February and will host the College Football Playoff championship game on Monday night.
