Getty Museum announces its free Off The 405 summer concert series

The Getty Museum in Los Angeles announced the return of its annual Off The 405 outdoor summer concert series, which will take place from that will take place on select Saturday evenings starting May 20 through Aug. 26.

The shows are free to attend, but attendees need to RSVP for passes in advance at www.getty.edu.

The concerts will take place from 6-9 p.m. each evening and begin with various live DJ sets in the museum courtyard. Attendees are also encouraged to arrive early and can bring in their own picnic items. Food and beverages will be available for purchase as well before the show begins.

Parking at the Getty Center is $20 (or $15 after 3 p.m. and $10 after 6 p.m.) There’s also a Pay Once, Park Twice offer available by visiting the Getty Villa before heading to the concert series using the same-day parking ticket.

May 20: Spelling

Bay Area-based experimental pop musician Chrystia “Tia” Cabral, professionally known as Spelling, will perform. DJ Zuri Adia will open.

June 24: Makaya McCraven

Known as a “beat scientist,” McCraven will perform his post-genre jazz arrangements which are influenced by a range of artists in the hip-hop, electronica and folk genres.

July 22: Etran de L’Aïr

Composed of brothers and cousins, the Agadez, Niger band will bring a pan-African style that embraces the sounds of their hometown.

July 29: Rahill

One of the founding members of Brooklyn’s garage-rock group Habibi, Rahill will showcase her own pop-rock tracks.

Aug. 26: Alabaster DePlume

The British saxophonist and poet will combine readings and music for a unique experience.
