Horseback rider ‘galloping through traffic’ in Whittier apprehended on suspicion of DUI

It wasn’t your typical police chase.

Someone refusing to pull over while riding a horse that was “galloping through traffic” led Whittier police officers on a brief pursuit on Saturday.

Eventually, the person was taken into custody on suspicion of “driving” under the influence.

The Whittier Police Department described the incident on social media.

The horse was brought to the Whittier Police Station, where it “received lots of love” from employees, police said.
