A new mural designed to stop hate entitled, “Unity Under The Sun” is unveiled at the Watts Historic Train Station on Saturday, March 4. The mural is a Los Angeles County project depicting cultural and historical symbols that reflect some of the many peoples, cultures, and movements that have been rooted, nurtured, and grown in Watts, South Los Angeles and other nearby neighborhoods.

The mural is on a wall facing Graham Avenue and is presented by the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission’s initiative, LA vs. Hate, in partnership with nonprofit Build Plus Community Marketplace. The 200-foot-wide mural was created by artists Showzart and Misteralek and features Simon Rodia, builder of the Watts Towers, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and others.
